Enthusiastic, high-energy volunteers are our treasures! The Museum at the Missouri Institute of Natural Science is looking for volunteers. Are you interested in Nature and Natural History? Do you like being around people and helping them learn more about Natural History? Do you want to give back to the community and make a direct impact on the lives of people who enjoy Natural History? Then you’re just the person we’re looking for!
The Museum is looking to fill volunteer positions in several areas:
Greeters and Sales Desk Clerk: Volunteers in this position will greet visitors, collect admission fees, complete sales transactions at the Museum’s Shop, answer general questions from the public, and handle phone calls.
Education: Volunteers in this position will conduct tours and programs in the Museum for students, children and adults visiting the Museum.
Exhibits: Volunteers in this position will do research to write labels and display scripts for exhibits, set up signs, posters, displays and related work.
Specific Projects: Volunteers in this position will assist with all aspects of special projects such as lectures, fossil digs, workshops, slide shows, and other educational activities.
Maintenance: Volunteers in this position will clean, dust, sweep, and mop the Museum. They will also help with cleaning the grounds around the Museum, when required.
